Bibbul Ngarma Aboriginal Association
Community-driven | Collaborative | Connected to Country
A new collaborative and community-led program for healthy rivers.
Our rivers are in trouble. Most are degraded and less than 1% are in pristine condition.
We have a unique opportunity to change the future for our rivers but we need your help.
BoorYul-Bah-Bilya is a new initiative developed by Bibbul Ngarma Aboriginal Association that aims to address this issue by creating a new type of community plan for rivers.
Our plan focuses on the Mandoon Bilya (Helena River) catchment, which flows from Ballardong and Gnaala Karla Booja into Whadjuk country in Perth, but we hope it will have far-reaching impacts by creating a process that can be applied to any river.
OUR ORGANISATION
An Aboriginal-led charity located on Whadjuk-Noongar Boodja in Perth.
Bibbul Ngarma Aboriginal Association aims to:
- Restore, preserve and protect land with cultural and natural heritage values.
- Enable education, training, capacity building and research.
- Strengthen community relations, participation and inclusion.
- Preserve and promote Aboriginal culture, heritage, language and economies.
We work with a wide range of local groups, businesses, schools, researchers, residents and government agencies to deliver collaborative projects that meet our objectives and connect our community together.
